Galapagos Islands 2006

The only way to truly see the Galapagos Islands fully is to explore by boat. A live aboard would give you the most time to enjoy these incredible islands. We actually put together two trips of 10 days each for each itinerary. Our first group traveled with us to the South islands starting in San Christobal where our yacht the "Deep Blue" was waiting.

The first day we did a refresher dive and the water was filled with sea lions. They were everywhere, curious, playful and quick! The week long trip throughout the South covered 9 islands where we hiked, snorkeled and dove sites that few people have seen. The boat was comfortable, the divemaster experienced and the on board naturalist was very knowledgeable.

The marine life and land animals were unafraid and we were able to observe them closely to obtain memorable photos and to witness these creatures in their natural environment, raising their young. All types of rays filled the waters, eagle rays, manta and mobley rays.We also saw many types of schooling fish, starfish, batfish & penguins!

The 2nd trip to the North was nothing short of spectacular with hundreds of schooling hammerheads, silky sharks and Whale Sharks! There was less hiking excursions in the North, but we came here to dive the Darwin-Wolf islands. This group of divers experinced big animal encounters and were amazed how many opportunities we had to observe these magnificent animals. Seals, sea lions, numerous eagle rays, free swimming moray eels, were all much more than we could have hoped to see on this truly once in a lifetime adventure. We finished this adventure with a few days in mainland Ecuador to experience the culture and people of this country located in South America. A trip to the Galapagos Islands is a scuba divers dream, the kind of dream every diver should have.
