"Start the Year Off Right" Equipment List and Information
Backpack (to fit all your gear)
20-Degree Sleeping bag
Fleece sleeping bag liner (It will keep you warmer, longer)
Roll Pad (required item)
Water Bottle
Fire Starting Kit (optional)
Pocket knife (optional)
Flashlight or Headlamp (don’t for get extra batteries)
Hand Warmers and Feet Warmers (For Night-time warmth)
Tent with fly (we have tents as well)
Tarp (Everyone must bring a tarp!!)
Fleece blankets
Personal First Aid Kit w/ a space blanket (Always good to have)
Clothing
2 pr. heavy wool socks (Got to change them before bed at night)
2 pr. wool pants or fleece pants
Waterproof shell pants (Gortex is our favorite choice but it's costly)
Polertec/Winter Jacket (Should be Waterproof)
1 Heavy Wool/fleece/non cotton sweaters/tops.
2 mid layers/tops (long sleeve shirts)
2 base layers (If you get really cold) – thermals
Wool Hat/ fleece hat
Waterproof, warm mittens (NOT GLOVES…they wont keep you as warm at night)
Water resistant footwear plus and extra pair of sneakers (Just in case)
Bathing suit and towel !!!
Trash bags!!!
*Please bring anything else that will make you more comfortable, (i.e toiletries!!!!)*
Parents – If you have any questions about the “Start the Year Off Right” trip please call Colin or Aubrey. Our goal is to give these amazing kids the experience. It is not to break your bank. If your OWL is unable to make the trip due to lack of gear, don’t worry about it we can make alterations and lend out some gear to help.
