Information:
Wilderness Experiences Unlimited believes that summer should be a special
time when all campers can appreciate themselves and their world!
Utilizing
the Out-of-Doors as the primary locale, W.E.U. provides exciting programs
in a friendly, safe, and supportive environment. All
programs incorporate the fundamental principles of recreation and education.
Campers have the opportunity to develop their own skills and potential
through individual and group challenges. Each camper is encouraged to
respond to their challenges, feel good about themselves, and gain experience
in personal decision making. Preservation and conservation are presented
as a way of life.
Every activity offers many approaches
to learning opportunities - appropriate for beginners as well as those
with various levels of experience. Fun, adventure, and friendly support
are major goals in every aspect of our summer camp program.
Philosophy and Goals:
Recognizing national and international problems related to the use and
abuse of our natural resources, W.E.U focuses on our New England "Wilderness" and the implications of responsible decision making by future citizens
to protect the ecological balance.
We believe that all individuals
have the right to:
- Reach for their highest potential through out-of-door experiences
- Learn to know the Wilderness as it relates to them
- Ask questions and have them answered fairly and honestly
- Accept defeat without "Failure" in a safe, supportive atmosphere
- Feel the thrill of personal accomplishment
The
most important part of our program is the placing of a child in a situation
where they can help themselves to grow. That chance is what W.E.U. is
all about!
