Our Leaders in Training (LIT) program gives campers broad exposure to the challenges of leading in a summer camp, balancing responsibility with fun! On a weekly basis, LITs rotate between different resident and day camp programs. Every day is different! LIT candidates serve as mentors to younger campers provide assistance to our senior leadership staff. LITs develop many technical as well as leadership skills while also discovering the importance of setting goals, and motivating others. The Leadership Quest Program, being offered for the first time, will fill up fast! If you are an experienced camper looking to challenge and learn about yourself in the outdoors this is the program for you! This two-week leadership focused program is for those who are willing to challenge themselves, and want to make a difference in the lives of younger campers and the environment.
Our most experienced staff will lead this group of young leaders, opening the door to nature education and wilderness leadership. Overcoming personal goals while learning to facilitate and assist in the learning of younger campers your aspiring leader will come home with feelings of pride and accomplishment that theyve made a difference. This is a program where your child will learn about themselves and their goals. While they meet and lead with their next group of best friends. * An amazing way to close a summer of LIT experience, or simply improve personal skills and self confidence
All LIT candidates must request an application and interview with the Director. LIT candidates are evaluated according to several criteria. A generous and caring spirit, maturity, good judgment, and a rapport with younger children are just some of the qualities that we look for. Call the Director to receive a special LIT package.
